Pearland City Trash Guidelines

Residential Waste Rules

Pearland City Trash Guidelines & Curbside Waste Rules

Here’s everything Pearland residents should know about residential trash service—including schedules, recycling, and bulk pick-up rules—to stay compliant and avoid surprises.

Residential Trash & Recycling Service

  • Trash is picked up twice weekly, varying by neighborhood (Mon/Thu, Tue/Fri, or Wed/Sat)

  • Carts must be placed curbside by 7 a.m., and may be set out after 5 p.m. the day before

  • Recycling is collected once a week; no sorting required—just place everything in one bin

Green Waste & Bulk Trash (Heavy Trash)

  • Green waste (like grass, leaves, branches) and bulk items (furniture, appliances, mattresses) are picked up on your recycling day

  • Limits apply: up to 2 cubic yards total (approx. 6 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft)—e.g., around 12–15 large bags

  • Branch/brush bundles must be ≤ 4 ft long, tied, ≤ 40 lbs, ≤ 18″ diameter

  • Only acceptable items: small appliances (with freon tagged by a licensed tech) and small furniture

  • Unacceptable: dirt, concrete, full construction debris, large tree limbs, hazardous materials

Why Knowing These Guidelines Matters

  • Avoid fines or rejected service

  • Know when and how to set out specific types of waste

  • Avoid overwhelming curbside carts

  • Ensure safe, compliant waste collection
